-When you end up getting a DVD ROM if you haven't already you will also need a adapter card to go with it. This is for handling the some of the graphic an audio properties. Also the card is made to de-encrypt the information. This is used so pirating isn't a issue. Bummer huh? Don't worry someone will get around that one.

-One day probably sooner than later we will see recordable DVD's. This will more than likely be a 3GB or better disc. Don't look to be able to record 17GB real soon. But I would take a 3GB disc recorder in a heart beat. Another thing is that it will also be called a DVD-RAM drive and get around the write only and allow re-write.
